Golden Slipper Camp for Boys and Girls

Waterfront

One of the most beautiful spots at Golden Slipper Camp is our private lake, and we take full advantage of this area. From quiet reflection to overnight camping to a full array of waterfront activities, everyone loves to spend time at the lake. And new this year is a beach, complete with beach volleyball.

We have two main dock areas; one for fishing and one for boating. All activities are well supervised and take place in small groups. We require that everyone wears a life jacket; safety is our number one priority.

All swimming activities take place at the pool.

Fishing

We supply the rods and worms. We supply the instruction. We even supply the fish. That's right. Each year we stock the lake with hungry fish just waiting for a dangling worm.

Your child may choose fishing as an elective, and for one week at the same time each day, he or she will learn all the basics about fishing, even if he or she has never been in the outdoors or around a lakefront area.

Boating

Kids may also elect to learn basic boating skills. We offer instruction in canoeing and kayaking.

  • Just for fun and recreation, we also have row boats available. And for even more fun, we have a couple power boating options that kids love:
    • Younger kids enjoy the powered electric bumper boats that they ride in an enclosed section of the lake.
    • All the kids love cruising around the lake on an inflatable raft towed by our jet ski.

New for 2006: A beach and beach volleyball at the Lake

We're creating a 2,000 square foot sandy beach, complete with a beach volleyball court. For more information on the beach, click here. To learn more about volleyball at Golden Slipper Camp, click here.
