Golden Slipper Camp for Boys and Girls

My, how we've grown.

In 1947, members of Golden Slipper Square Club, our parent organization, now known as Golden Slipper Club & Charities, searched for ways to serve families in the Philadelphia community. They met with leaders of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia to create a long-term care facility for the elderly. Out of that appeal was born the idea of building an affordable summer camp for children. Setting to work, the group quickly identified the Pocono Mountains as the ideal camp location and soon purchased 600-acres in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania. In the summer of 1948, Golden Slipper Camp welcomed its first 200 campers.

Golden Slipper Camp now serves more than 650 campers each summer. We offer two 4-week sessions and encourage kids to return every year.

Today, our commitment to providing an exceptional camp experience to young people who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity is unwavering. And we continually explore ways to expand our programs and improve our facilities.
